Powdersville Water (PW) is seeking to fill an open Construction Crew Chief position. The primary responsibility of the Construction Crew Chief is to plan and lead the daily activities of a utility construction crew. Supervise and perform a wide variety of day-to-day operational functions including, but not limited to, maintaining, repairing, constructing, locating and installing water mains, water taps, fire hydrants, a variety of valves, blow-offs, meters, and appurtenenaces in accordance with all applicable policies, procedures, state and federal regulations, PW standards and quality of safety.

• Ability to work outside daily, being expose to various weather conditions and safely working near heavy equipment and other tools and equipment associated with a construction work site
• A safe driving record (will be responsible for daily operation of a company vehicle
• Keen attention to safety and the well-being of others

Minimum Training, Experience, and Certifications required:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, with 2 years of vocational training preferred
• Minimum of one year as a B water distribution operator, A license preferred
• Valid SC driver's license; Class A CDL or the ability to acquire CDL within 12 months of appointment
• Appropriate past experience in water distribution maintenance, repair, construction, inspection, and field experience in environmental related field may be considered in lieu of certification
• Must possess supervisory experience and skills with construction personnel
• Must be able to obtain SCDES Cross-Connection Control license within 1 year of appointment
• Must be willing to work in a variety of weather and physical conditions. Muyst be willing to be on-call and respond to any issues 24/7/365
• Intermediate use of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and Word

This will be a temp-to-perm position, working a minimum of 40 hours per week with the possibility of scheduled and unscheduled overtime. PW offers market competitive compensation, including excellent benefits, upon conversion to a permanent position. The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $33.00/hr and is based on experience and level of certification.
