Accounting Specialist

Powdersville Water is searching for a qualified candidate to fill an open "Accounting Specialist" position. The primary responsibility of the Accounting Specialist is to perform such duties as receiving, analyzing and coding accounting and accounts payable documents, posting entries to general ledger, reviewing and maintaining internal records, reconciling general ledger accounts, preparing month-end and other financial reports, assisting with the year-end audit and annual budget preparation. This position requires financial analysis, attention to detail, organization, ability to multi-task, and manage multiple priorities, adherence to company policies and maintaining confidentiality. The individual must work well with all levels of management, board members, banking and vendor personnel and the public.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and financial reporting with an emphasis in general ledger, financial statement preparation, and accounts payable, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that requires the outlined knowledge, skills and ability.
• Proficiency in computer skills to include all Microsoft office software (Excel, Word, Outlook), Adobe, and Internet.
• Experience with Tyler Technologies ERP Pro 10 (General Ledger, Utility Billing, and Project Accounting) is a plus.
• Valid SC driver's license required
