Powdersville Water (PW) is seeking to fill an open Construction Crew Chief position. The primary responsibility of the Construction Crew Chief is to plan and lead the daily activities of a utility construction crew. Supervise and perform a wide variety of day-to-day operational functions including, but not limited to, maintaining, repairing, constructing, locating and installing water mains, water taps, fire hydrants, a variety of valves, blow-offs, meters, and appurtenenaces in accordance with all applicable policies, procedures, state and federal regulations, PW standards and quality of safety.

Ability to work outside daily, being expose to various weather conditions and safely working near heavy equipment and other tools and equipment associated with a construction work site
A safe driving record (will be responsible for daily operation of a company vehicle
Keen attention to safety and the well-being of others
Minimum Training, Experience, and Certifications required:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent, with 2 years of vocational training preferred
Minimum of one year as a B water distribution operator, A license preferred
Valid SC driver's license; Class A CDL or the ability to acquire CDL within 12 months of appointment
Appropriate past experience in water distribution maintenance, repair, construction, inspection, and field experience in environmental related field may be considered in lieu of certification
Must possess supervisory experience and skills with construction personnel
Must be able to obtain SCDES Cross-Connection Control license within 1 year of appointment
Must be willing to work in a variety of weather and physical conditions. Muyst be willing to be on-call and respond to any issues 24/7/365
Intermediate use of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel and Word
This will be a temp-to-perm position, working a minimum of 40 hours per week with the possibility of scheduled and unscheduled overtime. PW offers market competitive compensation, including excellent benefits, upon conversion to a permanent position. The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $33.00/hr and is based on experience and level of certification.
