Wastewater Lead Operator
$32.23/hour; 40 hours/week

Requires high school diploma or GED and specialized training supplemented by formal training, special courses or self-education and instrumentation maintenance and repair that is equivalent to five (5) years of professional experience.
Class "A" or "B" Biological Wastewater Certification. If applicant possesses a "B" Biological Wastewater Certification, he/she must have the ability to obtain the "A" Biological Wastewater Certification within one year.
Valid South Carolina driver's license

The Wastewater Lead Operator (WLO) provides operator leadership and assists in the planning and directing of all programs and operations of the City of Florence wastewater treatment facilities in addition to performing standard operator duties. This may include technical work in the operation and maintenance of the equipment and systems associated with the City's wastewater facilities and pump stations. The WLO works within the policies and organizational goals and guidelines, including the coordination and oversight of the wastewater facilities, maintenance and repair activities, pretreatment program functions, laboratory operations, as well as mentoring and guiding operators and staff. The WLO reports to the Wastewater Superintendent.
